Easy to Fix Skype Microphone Not Working on Windows 10

Method 1. Make sure Microsoft is set to On for Skype

1)
On your keyboard, press Windows key +I key together.

On the open Settings window, find and click Privacy.

Click Microphone on the left pane.
Then scroll down to find Skype on the right pane and check if its status is On.
If it’s Off, click it to switch to On.

Method 2. Adjust the audio settings on Skype

1)
Login Skype with your own account.
On Skype window, Click Tools > Options.

On the open window, click Audio settings on the left pane.
Then set your Microphone device and un-tick Automatically adjust microphone settings.
Click Save.

See if Microphone works on Skype now.

Method 3. Update the sound card driver on your Windows 10

1)
On your keyboard, press Windows key + R key together to open a Run box.
Then type services.msc in the box and click OK.

On the open window, scroll down to find and right-click on Windows Audio service.
Click Restart.
